A person who recites Surah-e-Kahf on Friday will have a Nur from his footstep till the height of the sky and it will give him light on the Day of Judgment (on Pul-e-Saraat) and all his sins since last Friday till this Friday are forgiven.
The greatness of Surah-e-Kahf can be imagined from the fact that the whole of this surah was revealed at the same time and 70,000 angels accompanied it (Rooh Alma’ani J 5, S 199). Lot of blessings are mentioned of Surah-e-Kahf in the sayings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and many blessings are narrated for its recitation. Evil of Dajjal from which every Prophet has warned his Umah and from which the last Prophet Ahmad-e-Mujtaba (PBUH) has also seeked the protection of Allah (SWT) and has taught the prayers to his Umah also for protection of this evil. In this regard Hazrat Abu Durdah (R.A) quotes Prophet (PBUH) that Prophet (PBUH) stated “the person who memorizes the first 10 Ayats of Surah-e-Kahf will remain safe from the evil of Dajjal (Muslim’ Tirmazi’ Reference: Tafseer Ibn-e-Kaseer J 3, S 70). Hazrat Abdullah Bin Umar (R.A) says that Prophet (PBUH) said “any person who recites Surah-e-Kahf on Friday, will get a Noor from his footstep till the sky and it will be light for him on the Day of Judgment (Pul-e-Saraat) and all his sins from last Friday till this Friday shall be forgiven” (Tafseer Ibn-e-Kaseer J 3, S 70).
Strange Blessing: Hazrat Ishaaq Bin Abdullah says that respected Prophet (PBUH) said “should I not tell you such a Surah, with which 70,000 angels descended and the greatness of which filled the space between the earth and the sky and similarly is rewarded the person who recites it. Sahaaba Rizwanullah Alaihim Ajmaeen said, why not, do tell us, then Prophet (PBUH) said it is, Surah-e-Kahf. Any person who recites it on Friday, his sins from last Friday till this Friday are forgiven and he is awarded a Noor for another 3 days which reaches the sky from earth and he is awarded protection from the evil of Dajjal (Reference: Aljamay Al-ahkaam-ul-Quran J 10, S 346).
Relief from the torture of Grave: Allama Ibn-e-Hajr (R.A) narrates an instance in his book regarding the blessings of recitation of Surah-e-Kahf, which further endorses the absolute truth of the sayings of Prophet (PBUH) (Ahaadees Mubarakah). When this instance came before me, I thought to state it befor the readers. Allama Ibn-e-Hajr (R.A) states that “the Qazi of Safd Muhammad Bin Abdur Rehman Usmani states that Ameer Saif ud Din Balbaan Al Hassani told me that one day when I went towards the desert, saw that Ibn-e-Daqeeq Al Eed was standing beside a grave in the graveyard, engaged in reciting Quran and prayers and was crying intensely, when I asked him the reason for crying, he said that the person in this grave was one of my pupils, he used to learn Quran from me, but died. I saw him in my dream at night and asked about his condition, he said that when I was put in the grave, an animal like a spotted dog came and started scaring me, I was scared but saw that the same time, a tall and good looking person came and made this animal run away. Then he came and sat besides me and started making me use to him. I asked, who are you ? He said that I am the reward of your recitation of Surah-e-Kahf, which you use to recite regularly on each Friday” (Reference Al darda Al Kamanta S 95, J 4).
